Mission Trip to Jordan

About 4 weeks ago I made the announcement that January 5-15, 2013 I will be in Jordan as a part of the 2nd Christians in Theatre Arts (CITA) and Harmony International Theatre mission trip. Harmony International (harmonyinternational.com) is a Christian organization that coordinates trips in over 35 countries and they specialize in utilizing The Arts. CITA (cita.org) is a 25 year old international networking organization for Christian Theatre Artists and I’ve been involved with them for over 10 years.

Personally this is a Vision Trip for me to learn how arts-based mission trips can function and to possibly incorporate arts-focused ministry techniques into future mission trips either through my work as a staff member of The Salvation Army of Chattanooga or as a member of Calvary Chapel Chattanooga.

In Jordan I will be using my training in Theatre and Storytelling as well as my ministry experience. Theatre Artists from around the country will be joining this team so this is an unique opportunity to work alongside people from various backgrounds.

The main objective of this trip it to work directly with a highly respected American who has lived and worked in Jordan for over 20 years as a Performing Arts teacher at a prestigious school with both Christian and Muslim High School Students.

First, I ask for your prayer support as we prepare and travel. Pray for safety, for God to prepare our hearts and to unite us as one, and for the hearts of those we will encounter. Your prayer support is vital and we cannot do this trip without your prayer covering!

There is a financial need and I am trusting God to provide approximately $3000, which includes airfare, ground travel, lodging, and meals. I have received some generous gifts already but as of this date I still need approximately 45% ($1400) in 17 days.

Also, I am SO CLOSE to being able to purchase the plane tickets, which as time passes will increase in price.

The Lord is showing me every gift is important and gives people an opportunity to bless!

My first gift came from someone serving in China that I've never even met in person! How awesome is that!? I had another gift come from a dear friend serving in Africa and another from a friend that serves overseas in a former Soviet Country but is stateside right now.

I am BLOWN AWAY that these workers who are on the field currently and have their own fundraising to do would be moved to help me!

After the plane tickets are purchased the remaining amount has to be turned in by Dec 1. Please ask God if and how you can contribute financially. Any amount no matter the size will greatly be appreciated. I will be deeply grateful to you and the Lord!  Checks need to be made out to me since I’m going as an individual and mailed to:
Tenika Dye
PO BOX 3359
Chattanooga, TN 37404

For quicker processing you can go to my online, secure giving site (a small paypal fee will be applied):

I am extremely grateful for this chance to use my passion and training in The Arts to serve others for the name and glory of Jesus’ Kingdom!
